Volume Hybrid-X HDT Surfboard
The Volume Shapes Hybrid X, now built in NSP's High Definition Technology (HDT) construction which brings the proven Volume Hybrid X outline by Richie Lovett into a precision-moulded surfboard, unlike anything else on the market, offering enhanced durability, consistent performance, and long-lasting value session after session.
Rail: 50% Drive & Speed / 50% Pivot & Response
Contours: Front – Subtle Single Concave
Back – Subtle Single + Double Concave
Construction: Moulded SecureCell EPS Core / Military-Grade Fiberglass / Epoxy Resin (HDT)
Wave size: 1–6 Ft (Ankle High – Overhead)
The design goal with the Hybrid-X was to create a board that paddled into waves really easy, then once up and riding, the back half of the board performs like a high performance shortboard. The tail measurement on this model is narrower compared to the Hybrid and Hybrid+, so when your back foot is planted over the fins, it will respond and turn on demand and also hold-in nicely when the waves are steeper and more powerful.
The entry rocker has been relaxed to allow for quicker start-up acceleration and speed from the take-off. This design tweak is also a bonus when the waves are flatter, and you have to work the board for speed. Lastly, the concaves have been softened to enhance the feelings of predictability and flow when transitioning from rail-to-rail.
HDT (High Definition Technology) uses advanced composite technology to combine its moulded Securecell EPS core, high modulus fibreglass reinforcement and foaming epoxy resin inside a high precision vacuum mould. Each element is engineered to work as part of a complete system rather than as isolated components.
The moulded EPS core provides a perfectly shaped, fully fused foundation. The composite fibreglass layup adds directional strength and controlled flex. The foaming epoxy resin locks everything together into a unified, sandwich structured shell that ensures the board delivers incredible durability, high-performance feel of the Volume Hybrid X at an unbeatable value.
