'NECK BEARD 2' IN SPINE-TEK
When something isn’t broke, there’s no need to fix it. That said, Britt Merrick and Dane Reynolds still felt a few slight refinements would make an already epic board that much better. And it did: The merits to this update can be seen in Dane’s new surf film “The Electric Acid Surfboard Test.”
A big fan of single concave, Dane asked Britt to turn the original Neckbeard’s double concave to single throughout. This changed the rocker landscape some, but in a very positive way—enhancing its wave entry, down-the-line speed, and overall control. They also widened the tail block 1/2” and added a slight hip, resulting in increased responsiveness and maneuverability.
'THE ROACH 2'
"When I think about designing a new model i'm looking for what's missing.. What we actually need as surfers. It doesn't always have to be high performance this and high performance that, more often than not it just needs to be fun, really fucking fun! The Roach 2 is exactly that. It's a volume forward, 2+1 summer destroyer." - Lee Stacey
'BLACK VULTURE 2 - BV2'
The BV2 is made for summer. This is a new model developed from the popular Black Vulture. The BV2 sits in the Summer board category and is designed with more speed, more performance than the original. With smaller, weaker waves in mind when designing this board, we’ve blended features from the original Black Vulture to create a speed generating board with a generous sweet spot.
Alternative Performance - Parker Coffin said it first: "A NeckBeard 2 would work sick as a twin-fin fish!" So we got to work redesigning the back half of the NB2 template and rocker, paired the board with our CI Keel Fins, and the FishBeard was born!
A sleeker, more performance-ready design than the CI fish, the Fish Beard is pure business in the front and all party in the back. Get forward on this user friendly board and drive from the center and you'll have all the speed and flow you always desired. Step back on the tail to engage the fins and rails, which provides you hold, pivot, projection and the freedom to rip as hard as ever. To keep the party going, we dug into the archives and found some mid 80's fluorescent logos and recreated CI's iconic layup from that era.
'LIGHTSPEED DRIVER 2.0'
"LightSpeed is our brand new ProFormance Epoxy surfboard construction built with lightweight EPS foam and high strength epoxy resin.
LightSpeed uses a combination of Rapid-Reflex Carbon Fiber as well as our exclusive vibration dampening Innegra-Fibers , woven into the finest custom performance fiberglass cloth.
LightSpeed is feather light and exceptionally fast, allowing you to take your surfing to new levels of speed and performance. Developed in-house at Lost, using our crew of board builders we worked closely with our team of top flight professional surfers to create the best possible technology for high performance surfing.
Feel the difference today." - Matt Biolos
Just evolving the Go Fish to something new, really. The Go Fish goes fast and feels skatey and loose and I love it, and riding it for a couple years made me want to feel more high performance - more carves, tighter turns. So the Seaside is about refining… less area in the tail, narrowing the tips of the swallow, creating more curve and narrowing the nose. All elements for ripping while the Go Fish stays cruisey and fun.
'MONSTA BOX 2020' + EASY RIDER DIMS
Easy Rider dimensions have been created with the goal of making our most popular models even more approachable. After a year of JS riding more different boards than ever before alongside Occy and Parko, with an R&D process riddled with injuries, lower fitness levels & work obligations, JS designed our EasyRider specs for easy paddling coupled with high performance surfing. Foam is hidden in all the right places for extra floatation, but with lowered rails that can still be buried at high speed.
By fusing the two best selling boards in the range together I have created a board that suits an even wider range of surfers and conditions.
The Monsta Box's features reflect all of the Monsta 8 and Blak Box 3's best bits, falling right in the middle to create a user-friendly yet still performance oriented board you can rely on around the year, and around the world. Monsta Box has more rocker and a narrower outline than the Blak Box 3, while it's fuller and flatter than the Monsta 8. I've blended these models to create a perfect combination of entry and exit rockers and given it a single to double concave.
Whether you’re travelling light or the budget's a little tight, this board has you covered. If you could only take one board to the beach then the Monsta Box is it!
BY ROB MACHADO
Words by Rob Machado:
I like to think of the guy at the Donut store that glazes the donuts. Pretty important dude. Kinda makes or breaks a donut.
He’s the GLAZER. And then you have my number one test pilot - TODD GLASER. He’s been riding this board for close to a decade. We’ve been modifying and tweaking it for years.
A little bit of width here... a touch of thickness there... back and forth until we finally agreed that it was ready. Very round and sleek curves. Gentle rockers. Easy to ride for all levels and easy to ride in all types of waves.
Short & wide - A perfect summer combo, the DHD Phoenix will have you covered!
Surf the ‘PHOENIX’ 2 to 3 inches shorter and 1 to 3 litres more than your everyday shortboard.
'MINI TWIN 2'
The Mini Twin II is designed to be surfed 2” shorter than the Mini Twin. Loaded with a wider outline, shallow swallow tail & 2 channels in between the fins makes this board lively & perfect for summer waves.
